Coping with Chemo is a series of animated vignettes available online to help teenagers cope with all the issues associated with chemotherapy. Additionally, there is a Q&A written by teens and access to an online community for kids with chronic illnesses.

Kids Connecting with Kids is a series of testimonials from the users of STARBRIGHT World, an online community developed specifically for kids and teens living with serious and chronic illnesses.

STARBRIGHT World is an online community developed specifically for kids and teens living with serious and chronic illnesses. Peer to peer interaction allows users to better understand, manage and cope with their conditions and make some friends along the way.

UC & Crohn's (in production, no link available)

UC & Crohn's is a web resource for teens living with intestinal and bowel disorders. It containes a series of videos with real teens talking about their experiences with the illnesses and other resources about the disorder.

SBW E-Zine Scene (software-based, no link available)

The SBW E-Zine Scene is an online zine for teens available through STARBRIGHT World. Published monthly (with full archives available), the publication features horoscopes, bios, news, interviews, entertainment reviews and more.

User Not Found was a personal research project I started to explore a new phenomenon in online commuity - user death. I researched the ways that people discovered the deaths of their online friends and began to uncover new forms of grieving therein.

National Organization for Women E-Cards

The National Organization for Women wanted a way to send e-cards that were politically aligned with their mission. Internally produced e-cards for a variety of holidays and events was a perfect solution to their needs.

Based on my online community work with chronically ill kids, I began this project to take a look how people deal with the deaths of their online friends. I wrote all the content, edited reader comments and designed the pages.

I wrote press releases, corporate site copy and product descriptions from July 2001 - April 2002, including most of the copy you see on the current Web site. Click here for samples.

National Organization for Women
I wrote feature stories and online community content from September 2000 - July 2001. In August 2001, the organization decided to disband the online community elements of the site, therefore clips are not currently available. I also wrote copy for and designed several of the e-postcards still featured on their current Web site.
